Mary Evelyn (Cogswell) Shekell, passed May 9, 2023 surrounded by her family.
She was born October 5, 1944 to Paul and Laura (Circle) Cogswell in Anderson.
She married her husband, Frank Shekell in February 1965. That union provided three children. Frank and the children survive.
Most important things in Evelyn's life were her family and her church. The family home was the gathering place for years of holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions. Evelyn was a long time member of Bethany Christian Church.
Evelyn and Frank enjoyed spending their winters for 20 years in Sebring, Florida. Those years provided many friends and memories. When in Florida, they attended Bible Fellowship Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Stephanie (Duff) Robbins, Julie (Mark Weissman) Shekell and Jeffrey (Susan) Shekell; siblings, Charles Cogswell, Anna Hughes, and Ken Cogswell; granddaughters, Rebecca Robbins, Rachel Robbins, Mikayla Shekell, Samantha Shekell and Mireille Weissman.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul "Butch" Cogswell and sister-in-law, Joyce (Noble) Cogswell and brother-in-law, John Hughes.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Robert Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Bronnenberg Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
