It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our father, Carl Frantz Jean, formerly of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great friend who unexpectedly and peacefully passed away in his sleep on April 27, 2023, at the young age of 82 in Boston, MA.
Born on August 10, 1940, in Cabaret, Haiti to Charles Jean and Lydia Alfonse, Carl was the youngest brother of a family of 7 siblings Odette Jean, Kesner Jean, Weber Jean, Zette Jean, Marie Lenide Jean, and Huguette Jean.
Father to Daniel Florian Mikulasch of California, Dimitry Theodore and his wife Lorzenie Theodore of Miramar Florida, Stephanie Guerrier of Boston Ma, Romane Makowski of Chertsey, England, Johane Jean, Stacy Jean and her husband Obed Cesar, Christelle Jean and her husband Frantz Mervilus and Carly Vercilien.
Former Partner to Therese Saint Louis, Rose Genite Guerrier, Regina Maria Mikulasch, Marie Yvrose Julmeus.

Great friend to Samy Zureik, Michelet "lele" Joseph, Francois Sansregret, and Frantz Antoine.
Carl was a brilliant student at Faculte des Sciences d'Haiti so much so that he earned a full scholarship to study in Germany. He studied Steel construction among other interests and earned his degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Munich from 1968-1973.
He had the opportunity to go work elsewhere however he wanted to make an impact in his homeland Haiti so he returned to Haiti in 1973. He held various positions such as Director of CAMEP, and worked at Routes et Ponds (roads and bridges), a company dedicated to improving infrastructure in Haiti alongside his great friend Samy Zureik and Frantz Antoine. Throughout his career, Carl was recognized for his contributions in Haiti and he was most recognized for his contributions in building the tallest building in Haiti, Teleco Pont Morin. He was admired by his peers for his technical knowledge and leadership.
Known for his generosity, compassion, and his love for helping others, our Dad was truly one of a kind, a charming and loving man and we miss him dearly.
Please come join us as we celebrate his life at his funeral service at St. Angela Church on 1540 Blue Hills Ave in Mattapan. The viewing starts at 10 AM followed by a Mass and refreshments at the end.
