CHICOPEE – Thomas “Rocky” McKinnon, 55, of Chicopee, was Called Home on Saturday, May 6, 2023. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on September 7, 1967, a beloved son of the late William J. and Antoniette B. (Reniewicz) McKinnon. He was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had lived in Chicopee his entire life. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Persian Gulf War and attained the rank of Corporal. He received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Two Meritorious Unit Citations and the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed at the Home Depot Warehouse in Westfield. During his leisure time, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his three loving children and his former wife, Keira F. McKinnon, Liam T. McKinnon and Nora T. McKinnon and their mother, Patricia A. Tobiasz; his four dear siblings, William T. McKinnon and his wife, Donna, Michael P. McKinnon and his wife, Deb, James R. McKinnon and Diane M. Schreiber and her husband, Carl; and his many cherished nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and numerous friends.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his two dear brothers, Ronald McKinnon and his wife, Sue and John McKinnon. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Committal Service with United States Marine Corps Military Honors on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01101, (please meet directly at the cemetery).
