Robert "Bobby" J. Boucher, 56, of Carver, Massachusetts, a loving father, passed away at home unexpectedly on May 2, 2023.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on August 3, 1966, he was the of son of the late Richard Boucher and late Victoria (Walmsley) Boucher.
Bob graduated from East Bridgewater High School in 1984 and attended Bridgewater State College. Bob was a longtime arborist (“tree guy”) and went on to become a correctional officer at MCI Walpole and Norfolk for 20 years.
He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, serving for 27 years, including 3 active-duty tours in Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was a decorated soldier, Sergeant First Class, and completed various military training schools.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman who loved and respected all animals and wildlife. Bob was an athlete in his day and went on to coach his own children in youth sports. An accomplished gardener, Bob found great joy in cooking, especially for the ones he loved. Bob was also a published poet. He always went above and beyond to help those in need and was a true and loyal friend, father, husband, and son.
Bob was the loving brother of the late Elise Boucher of East Bridgewater, MA, and is survived by his brother Joseph Boucher (Mary Boucher) of Somersworth, NH, and their children, Emily and Jake Boucher. He leaves behind his wife Lucia Perry-Boucher of Carver, MA, his daughter Jaime Boucher (Mike Kelly) of Taunton, MA, and son Luke Boucher (Chantel Whittemore) of Carver, MA, and stepchildren Brittni and Nikolas Perry.
Celebration of life to be held Saturday May 13th from 1-4pm at Blanchard’s Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, MA. The family welcomes all to eulogize Robert at Whitman's VFW, 95 Essex Street Whitman, MA, at 4:30pm.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation or American Cancer Society .
