Mary C. Anderson McAllister, 82, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 5, 2023, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. McAllister at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Tim Henry and the Rev. Kenny Kicklighter will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ricky Manders, Chance McAllister, Brandon McAllister, Taylor McAllister, Willis Hopkins and Mary Hopkins will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 16, 1940, in Plant City, Florida, Mrs. McAllister was the daughter of the late Arthell Anderson and Martha Winn Anderson. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Before retiring, she worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Lyles in Tifton. She was a member of Independent Worship Center in Tifton, where she was actively involved in all church activities. She loved her grandchildren, loved growing flowers and loved animals.
Mrs. McAllister is survived by her husband, Elvin C. McAllister, Jr. of Tifton; her children and their spouses, Kim Curry of Norfolk, Virginia; Rose Hopkins (Glenn) of Marietta, Dennis (Paige) McAllister of Dublin and Dean (Heidi) McAllister of Dallas, Georgia; her grandchildren and their spouses, Cymone Curry of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Mary Hopkins and Willis Hopkins, both of Marietta, Chance (Kaylie) McAllister of Madison, Brandon (Abby) McAllister of Dublin, Taylor McAllister of Dallas, Georgia and Kate (Hunter) Astin of Hiram, Georgia; and her great-grandchildren, Addison, Grant and Bennett McAllister, Asa Avery and Blair Astin.
