It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claire V. Madden-Foley, loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 2, 2023. Claire was born in Boston on July 24, 1942 to the late William and Lillian Madden. In addition to her parents, Claire was preceded in death by her loving husband Francis Foley, brother Bill Madden and sister Elizabeth Wisentaner. Claire was a loving and devoted mother to Lauren Marrocco and her husband Joseph, Lisa Foley-Paige and her husband Jonathan, Francis D. Foley (Boston Fire Department) and his wife Melanie, and Lynette Foley. Her pride and joy were her nine grandchildren Alexie Marrocco, Erica Brothers and her husband Darien, Amanda Erlandson and her husband Michael, Nicholas Marrocco, Kaitlyn Foley, Emma Foley, Ryan Greenwood, Mariella Foley, Nolan Foley; and three great-grandchildren, London, Sophia and Rocco. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and longtime friends.
Claire had the personality and charisma to make friends everywhere she went. She lit up the room with her beautiful smile and contagious laugh. Claire was an animal lover and supported many different animal causes over her lifetime. However, there was nothing more important to Claire than her family. Showering her children and grandchildren with love was her greatest joy and no one did it better than her.
She will be greatly missed by so many whose lives she touched, especially her grandchildren. Nana, you left a mark on us that will never fade. We love you to the moon and back.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Claire’s Funeral Mass in The Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 10 o’clock. Interment Mt.
