Arakelian, Eleanor of Belmont, formerly of Watertown passed away peacefully at home on May 1, 2023. Eleanor was born June 22, 1931, the youngest of four children, to the late Charles and Alice (Kashian) Arakelian. She was a loving and devoted sister to the late Louise Zouranjian and the late Paul Arakelian and Arthur Arakelian. She is survived by her Sister-in-law Rose Arakelian and several nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was a graduate of Watertown High School and Lasell Junior College where she earned an associate’s degree in science. After graduation, Eleanor worked for many years at New York Life Insurance Company in Boston. She later worked for a private insurance company in Watertown and retired as a receptionist for the Watertown Savings Bank.
Eleanor was a member of Saint James Armenian Church and was a member of the Women’s Guild. In her free time, Eleanor enjoyed volunteering at her church and also by helping with the cooking and preparations of the many foods for the yearly church bazaar.
Funeral Service at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Monday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Interment at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
