RUTHERFORD, Lyman A. of West Roxbury passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023 at Beth lsrael Hospital in Needham after a brief illness. He lived his 83 years in the home where he was born and raised. Lyman was affectionately known as "The Dean" of his street, being its longest living resident. He could recall when each home was built and who had occupied that home since the day it was built. Lyman loved spending time with friends and neighbors, chatting about neighborhood news, gossip, and history. Lyman delighted in helping people in any way he could - providing detailed directions to any location in New England, putting away empty trash barrels, or providing "Uber" services. He also had an amazing talent fixing anything with a motor: lawnmowers, snow blowers, weed whackers, or vehicles. Lyman will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. ln lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Lyman to a charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at the William J.
