Margarita (Papalilo) Binici, 95, of Worcester died peacefully on April 29, 2023 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband, Emanuel Binici, died in 2012.
She leaves her two sons, John Banks-Binici and his wife, Katrina of Westborough, and Anastas Y. Binici and his wife, Aliki of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Tony Binici, Margarita Ho, Joanna Chanis, Antonia Peabody, Sophia Binici, Julian Binici, and Isabella Binici, and six great-grandchildren, Melina, Thalia, Aliki, Finn, Emanuel, and Andrew. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, Marina Mitre, Yolanda Poulo, Cynthia Topuzi, Vaso Isildakli, Flora Savidis, Paul Papalilo, and Anna Boyatzi and their children. She was predeceased by her brothers, Petro Papalilo, Taki Papalilo, and Ilia Papalilo, and her sister, Aglaia Papa. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Mrs. Binici was born in northern Albania, daughter of Apostolis and Flora (Javaras) Papalilo. She immigrated from Istanbul, Turkey to Worcester, MA with her husband and children in 1969. Mrs. Binici was a seamstress and worked for Marcus Department Store and Pronuptia Bridal in Worcester retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for the wonderful care provided to Margarita throughout her years there.
Her funeral is Wednesday, May 3rd in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street with a service at 11:00 a.m. with calling hours preceding the funeral beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
