Deborah Mary (Franklin) Sellers, 62 of Lowell, passed away after a long battle with lung cancer on April 22, 2023 at Oxford Rehabilitation in Haverhill. She was the widow of the late Dennis P. Sellers with whom she married in 1983,sharing 37 years of marriage before he passed away in 2020.
She was born in Passiac, NJ on May 4, 1960 and was a daughter of the late Harry and the late Mary (O’Donnell) Franklin. She attended the local schools, graduating from Dover High School with the class of 1977.
Deborah lived in Florida for many years before her husband became ill and they relocated back to Lowell. She was employed as a special needs bus driver for many years. She also worked for Shoprite in Randolph, NJ, and then as a nurses aid in the Greater Lowell area, later working for the VA Hospital as a nurses aid.
She loved cats, her beloved cats meant the world to her. She and Dennis loved taking day trips together, especially to Hampton Beach. She will be affectionately remembered for her delicious cooking
She is survived by her son, Michael Richardson of Lowell; her brother, Daniel Franklin of North Carolina; her sister in law, Donna Sherman of Lowell; and her nieces and nephews including, Joe Sherman of Lowell, Timothy Sherman of St. Petersburg, FL, and Pam Sherman of Cambridge. In addition to many friends in the Lowell area and beyond. She will be missed by the people at Oxford Rehabilitation in Haverhill, where the family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and compassion during this time.
On Thursday, May 4, 2023, all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 10 a.m. - 12 noon at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. Her funeral service will take place at 12 noon in the funeral home.
