Roy was a man of many talents and interests. He became a licensed pilot in his 20s; he enjoyed skiing and sailing for many years. He remodeled the 200 year old home he had lived in from the age of 8 and designed and built many special features that made it a unique and wonderful place to raise a family. He truly enjoyed his teaching years and made many lasting friends of colleagues and students. An extremely kind man, he would help anyone in need. He loved and cherished his son and daughter-in-law and his wife. He especially enjoyed his years as a bus driver for the Scituate Senior Center under the direction of Judy Loven. Roy will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
Besides his beloved wife of 49 years, Marcia, Roy is survived by his son, Justin T. Sharkey and his wife Alyssa of North Scituate, RI.
