Pablo Burgos, 74 years old, of Roxbury, MA passed away on April 21, 2023. A beloved husband, an adored father, loving abuelo, devoted brother, caring uncle, and a giving friend. He loved deeply, lived passionately, and was always willing to open his home and give a helping hand to family and friends. He can always be found laughing and smiling, his soul eternally youthful. Pablo’s greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed family gatherings, the outdoors, working with his hands - whether on cars, in the home, gardening, or caring for animals. He lived life enthusiastically.
Pablo was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico to the late Leocadio Burgos and Ramona Fernandez on January 25, 1949. Pablo and his family moved to Boston in 1968. Pablo is survived by his wife Francisca (Pagan) Burgos. and his children Irene Burgos, Frances E. Burgos, Raquel Burgos, Marlene P. Burgos Lopez, Arlene (Burgos) Black, Betsy (Burgos) Thomas, Roberto Baez and Mario Baez. Grandfather of Madison M. Black, the late Juan Pablo Chavez, Mariella C. Murillo, Ryan D. Black, Frances Aracelis Chavez, Jorge Ramon (“JR”) Murillo, Aryana R. Burgos Abu-Raya, Brianna B. Kelk, Nicholas B. Kelk, Alexandra M. Burgos Abu-Raya, Isabella M. Kelk, Daniella E. Castro, Honor J. Thomas, and Jasmine M. Kelk.
Pablo is predeceased by his sisters Francisca “Milagros” Burgos, Petra Burgos, and Lydia E. Burgos and his brothers Rafael “Cayito” Burgos and Daniel Burgos. He is survived by his siblings Carmen “Tita” Colon, Porfirio “Fito” Burgos, Benita Burgos, Rosa Maria Burgos, and Adelicia Burgos. Pablo is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews that he adored.
A part of us is missing now that you are gone. As time moves forward, our memories of you will live forever in our hearts.
A visitation will be held at the P.E. Murray- F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4-8pm, A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 10:00am at Boston’s Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1545 Tremont St, Boston, MA 02120 (Please go directly to the church). Relatives and friends kindly invited. Internment at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale.
