John “Jay Vee” Viveiros. Age 77. Husband of Madeline(Peixoto)Viveiros for 51 years. Residence 75 Hetherington Dr., Swansea, MA. Born in Fall River, MA. Son of the late John Viveiros and the late Catherine(Moniz) Viveiros. He was a resident of Swansea since 1959. Before retiring, he was the Proprietor and Founder of Jay Vee’s, Inc. He was an avid fisherman. He was a licensed Coast Guard Captain. He was a member of the former Our Lady of Fatima Church, now St. Francis of Assisi Church, Swansea, MA. He was a U.S.A.F. Veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in Japan.

Besides his wife of Swansea, he is survived by Two Sons: Michael John Viveiros of Manteo, NC and John Paul Viveiros of Fall River, MA. One Daughter: Terri Viveiros West of Cambridge, MA. Father-in-law of Robbi and Carol Viveiros and Michael West. One Brother: George Viveiros of Mattapoisett, MA. Two Sisters: Mary Swygert of Tiverton, RI and Dolores Edmondson of Glen Ellyn, IL. Grandfather of Nicholas John Viveiros and Madeline Doyle West. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Alice Ferris and Lucy Anslinger.

His funeral will take place on Saturday, June 17, 2006 with a Mass of Christian Burial IN St. Francis of Assisi Church, Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, MA at 9:00 AM. Burial of Cremated Remains in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River, MA to follow. There are no calling hours.In lieu flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes Memorial Endowment Fund, Diabetes Association Inc., P.O. Box 1525, Fall River, MA 02722.
