MaryLou (Toomey) Nickerson, 79, of Whitman, Massachusetts passed early morning on Sunday, April 23rd.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1943 and raised in Winthrop, Massachusetts, she was the eldest daughter of the late Catherine (Harte) Toomey and the late Joseph Toomey.
She was the wife of the late Louis Nickerson and was the sister of Janet DiMento, Jo-Ann Costello, and the late Kathryn Kelly. She is survived by her two children, Kathryn (Nickerson) Burnett and her husband Scott of Whitman, and Todd Nickerson and his wife Sarah of Abington. She adored her four grandchildren, Emily and Molly Burnett and Caitlyn and Timothy Nickerson.
She was a long-time employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and she contributed her time working and volunteering at the Whitman Council on Aging. She was an active member of the Holy Ghost Church in Whitman, attending Saturday Mass regularly.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visiting hours on Monday May 1 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and her services on Tuesday May 2 at 9:45 AM from the Chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Holy Ghost Church. Burial will follow in the Saint James Cemetery.
