Catherine Ann (Tyman) Evans, 89 of Milford formerly of Medway, died suddenly April 20. She was the wife of the late Robert Evans who died in 2016.
Born in Newton, October 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Jordan) Tyman, Catherine was raised in Newton and had lived in Medway for many years before moving to South Dennis where she lived until moving to Milford in 2014.
A homemaker, Catherine enjoyed playing golf, working out at the gym, walking and reading. She was an active member of the Medway VFW Women’s Auxiliary for many years.
She is survived by her children, Carole Hutchison of Naples, Florida, Patricia Halon and her husband Louis of Raynham, Robert Evans and his wife Judith of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Cheryl Evans of Milford, Elizabeth Evans of Conroe, Texas and Diana Jennings of Spring, Texas.
She was the sister of James Tyman, Francis Tyman, Edward Tyman, Dorothy Healy and Elizabeth Mathis, all who predeceased her.
Catherine is also survived by her 9 grandchildren; Christina Reed, Nicole Hutchison, Stacey Garnett, Kimberly Allen, Jennifer Ford, Sarah Peacock, Heather Mavros, Robert Evans Jr. and Adam Jennings along with 10 great-grandchildren; Carter Garnett, Bella Garnett, Liam Allen, Brianna Allen, Jackson Ford, William Ford, Jolene Ford, Tucker Peacock, Avery Peacock and Charlotte Mavros.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 27 in St. Joseph Church, Medway at 11:00. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street, Medway.
