Obituary

Diane F. (Forrest) Newman, 76 of Dedham died April 21 at Newton Wellesley Hospital following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Michael E. Newman for the past 47 years.

Born in Norwood, June 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Francis and Attilia (Gallo)
Forrest, Diane was raised in Walpole and had lived in Dedham since 1976.

Diane had been a unit coordinator at Newton Wellesley Hospital for several years.
She had previously worked at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Dedham Medical Associates.

Diane’s pride and joy were her children. Some of her happiest moments were spent cheering Adam on at Xaverian Brothers High School and Boston College. She loved her trips to Syracuse University and spending time with Courtney, especially while traveling with her in Italy during her semester abroad.

Diane adored her granddaughters and treasured her time with them at their sporting events, plays, concerts, and baking Nana’s Ricotta cookies. She always had a phone in her hand for countless photos.

She loved spending time with her friends, traveling the world with Mickey, trips to the beach, and being with her dogs and grand dogs. She was always ready to entertain friends and never missed a special occasion to send a card, text or phone call.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Adam Newman and his wife Julie of Wellesley and Courtney Newman of Attleboro.

She is also survived by her sisters, Judith Santosusso of Norwood and Mary McQuaid of Fitchburg. She was the sister of the late Kathleen Moynihan.

Diane is also survived by her granddaughters Ava and Sophia Newman.

Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26 in Blessed Sacrament Church, Walpole at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com 131 Main Street, Franklin.
