Edward M. Almeida, 79, of Dartmouth passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the son of the late Dorante E. and Mary (Mello) Almeida.
Mr. Almeida was born in Fall River and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. He was a member of the Dartmouth Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He loved the outdoors and his greatest hobby was bird watching and studying animals. He enjoyed dancing but most of all, he loved spending time with his younger nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his 2 sisters: Julia Oliveira and Claudia Tessier, both of Dartmouth; his 2 nieces: Dawn Cummings of Lakeville and Kimberly Chicca of Fall River; his 2 nephews: Scott Oliveira of Dartmouth and Neil Tessier of Fall River; along with many great nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Mary Medeiros.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, May 1, 2023 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M.
Memorial visitation will be Monday, May 1, 2023 from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service.
Interment will in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
