Obituary

Lois Evelyn Luke Swaim, 74, died Friday, June 9, 2006, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at the Tift Avenue Church of God. Rev. Joe Crumley and Rev. Billy Swain will officiate with burial to follow at Turner Church Cemetery in Berrien County. Pallbearers will be Harvey Coker, Rev. Edwin Dillard, Don Thornton, Rev. N.C. Spradley, Silas Spradley, Eschol McDaniel, Arthur Cauthen and Bobby Cauthen. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Ms. Swaim was born on May 26, 1932 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Homer Luke and Sally Mary Brannen Luke, both deceased; her mother having died on February 28 of this year. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Luke. She was retired as a waitress at the Pirate’s House in Savannah and of the Pentecostal Faith.

She was the loving mother of two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony Spradley of Florida and Robert Lamar “Sonny” and Suki Head of Columbus; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Shaw-Saunders and her husband, Jack, of Tifton, and Michelle and Allen Edwards of Faulkville; one sister and brother-in-law, Grace and J.W. Luke of Black Creek; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
