Obituary

Laurie Ann Haggan, age 50, of Middletown, CT, passed away at her home which she shared with the love of her life and kindred spirit, Jim “Cricket” Fiducia, on April 19th, 2023. She was born on September 3rd, 1972 to parents Richard and Jeanne Haggan.

She grew up in Bozrah, CT, graduated from the Norwich Free Academy in 1990, and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Eastern Connecticut State University. After college Laurie began working at Pfizer in the clinical research department, and later enjoyed a rewarding career as the Acquisition Specialist at the University of Hartford Library where she worked for the past 19 years.

Family and childhood friends remember Laurie as the director of comical dress-up plays, unapproved neighborhood bike excursions, entrepreneurial lemonade stands, and playing games of kick ball and spud in the front yard.

Laurie enjoyed relaxing at the beach, taking scenic road trips along the East Coast, dining out at ethnic restaurants, taking in Blue Angels air shows, and she always ran on Dunkin’ iced coffee. She championed her brother’s annual Easter Day “bunny hop,” and was Bradley Cooper’s #1 fan.

Laurie eagerly awaited the commencement of #HagganFamilyFunWeek, when her entire family would come together to celebrate holidays or go on memorable destination vacations.

Laurie was a kind soul. She was a positive, proud, and loving friend to all. Her courage and strength through adversity was admirable and inspirational. Her infectious laugh, and love for her friends and family will be forever cherished.

Laurie is survived by her life partner, Jim Fiducia, of Middletown, mother, Jeanne Haggan, of Bozrah, CT, sister, Diana Haggan, of Louisville, KY, brothers, Doug (Kristin) Haggan of Griswold, and Tim (Erin) Haggan of Griswold, CT, and nieces and nephews, Jacob, Lucas, Karis, Grady, and Brookie. She was predeceased by her father, Richard Haggan.
