Paul G. Lucia
Boston Globe Pressman and active member of Local #3
TEWKSBURY: Paul G. Lucia, age 57, a resident of Tewksbury for 30 years, passed away peacefully at home in the care of his family on Friday, April 14, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Christine A. (Sloss) Lucia, with whom he celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on September 24, 2022.
Born in Arlington on March 21, 1966, he was the son of the late Paul L. Lucia and the late Rose (McKenna) Lucia.
Paul was raised in Arlington, attended local schools, graduated from Arlington High School, and was a member of the Arlington Knights of Columbus.
Following high school, he began his proud 41-year career as a pressman for the Boston Globe and as a member of Local # 3.
Paul was an extremely passionate Boston sports fan but found true passion in the Red Sox with his son. This winter he thoroughly enjoyed watching the Bruins with his daughter Nicole and was able to attend a game before his passing. In addition, he enjoyed playing numerous rounds of golf with friends and family in the summertime. Trull Brook Golf Course being his favorite. Paul took great pride in watching his kids grow up by attending sporting events of Nicole and Matt. He was a very proud father and grandfather, enjoying their achievements in life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Matthew G. Lucia and his wife Shianne, of Hudson, NH and Nicole A. Lucia and her significant other Christopher D. Burak, Jr. both of Tewksbury: his granddaughter, Aubrey M. Lucia, of Hudson, NH: his sister, Geralyn Sawyer and her husband Steven, of Woburn. He also leaves many extended family members, friends, and brothers and sisters of Local 3. He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 25th, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by a prayer service to be held at the funeral home.
