Irene L. (Onessimo) Carini passed away on April 19, 2023. She was 83 years old.
Irene was a lifelong resident of Boston’s North End, and a longtime employee for Stop & Shop and Mass General Hospital.
Irene was the daughter of the late Anthony and Irene (Landry) Onessimo. She was the devoted mother of Brian Onessimo and his wife Lisa of Boston and Angelo Carini and his wife Janine of Revere. Irene was the dear sister of Constance Casto and her late husband Vincent, Joseph Onessimo and his wife Jane, Lillian Parziale and her husband Paul, Richard Onessimo, Vincent Onessimo and his wife Lisa and the late Salvatore Onessimo and his late wife Helen, the late Angelo Onessimo and his late wife Dolores, the late Anthony Onessimo and his late wife Anna, the late Henry and William Onessimo, the late Edward Onessimo and his late wife Felice, the late Jeannette Onessimo, and the late Thomas Onessimo and his surviving wife Christine. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicholas Onessimo and his wife Cassandra, Brian Onessimo, Angelo Carini, Nicholas Carini, Jeremy Carini, and Jiana Onessimo and her daughter Amina. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Irene’s life will be held in Saint Leonards Church, 320 Hanover St., Boston on Tuesday April 25th at 10:30am. A visiting hour will be held at the church from 9:30am-10:30am prior to the Mass. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Irene’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
