Obituary



James A. Sullivan of North Hutchinson, Fort Pierce, Florida, died on April 14th, 2023. Mr. Sullivan was born on July 13th, 1925 in Medford, MA. Son of the late William F. and Loretta P. (Daley) Sullivan. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Theresa P. Sullivan, his sons Richard and Edward, his daughter Loretta, his sister Catherine Hannan, his brothers, William F. Sullivan and Richard L. Sullivan. Surviving him are his son and daughter in law James A. and Pamela Sullivan, of Wakefield, MA. He has four grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sullivan was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the disabled American Veterans.

Mr. Sullivan began his career after the war with the Medford Police Department and later became a member of the Metropolitan Police Department in Boston, MA, later moving to the Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission as an investigator. He was a communicant of Holy Roman Catholic Church in Vero Beach, Florida and the Knights of Columbus.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with James’ family on Wednesday, April 26th from 10 to 11 AM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in James’ name to the Ardie R. Copas State Veteran Nursing Home, 13000 SW Tradition Pkwy, Port St. Lucie, Florida, 34987.
