SOUTH HIRAM- Alonzo Kenneth (AK / Gonzo) Wallace III, Age 56, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023, at his home. He was born in Portland, ME on April 6, 1967, the son of the late Alonzo Kenneth Wallace Jr, and Viola Maureen (Kennedy) Wallace.
Graduated from Sacopee Valley High School. Over the years, AK worked at various places but his favorite employment was Horizon Mobile Communications as well as his last job, Lanco Assembly Systems.
AK took great pride in his work and was very well known for always tinkering on something, especially mechanical. There wasn’t much he couldn’t do or fix. AK was a licensed Ham radio operator for over 30 years. AK enjoyed the outdoors, whether it be from doing yardwork or gardening. He loved camping and going for a walk. In high school, he was a member of the Diehard Hiking Club. In recent years he had learned how to fly fish and enjoyed that whenever he could.
Anyone that knew AK knew that his biggest passion was music. AK didn’t just listen to music, he made it happen. A multi-talented / self taught musician played countless hours solo and with bands throughout the years mostly playing Rhythm Guitar. At one time, he was even in a band with his Father. One particular band that meant a lot to him was Lost and Found. This band consisted of friends. They played together, wrote a few songs. The one song that he always loved that they wrote was Fallen Angel. Most of the cover songs he played were from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Country and Rock. He also made many memories with Sam and Mona Davis in their basement. Sam & AK built a recording studio called AKS Studio and spent many evenings playing music and drinking coffee.
AK is survived by his mother- Viola Maureen (Kennedy) Wallace of Hiram: his ex wife Lisa (Davis) Leighton of Windham, who will always be family; sister- Lynn Hurst of Saco; brother- Brent Rogers and his wife Diane Charney Rogers of Effingham, NH.
