GROTON: Timothy Dean Pocock, 59, of Groton died Saturday, April 15, 2023 at his home. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lori D. (Singer) Pocock. He was born in Westerly RI on December 6, 1963, the son of Gloria (Burbine) Marshall. He lived in Mystic until age 6 moving to Sherman Mills, Maine, and returned to Connecticut where he presently resided.
He was the owner and business partner of New Era Shower Enclosure.
Tim loved asphalt and dirt racing in various states, woodworking in his shop, restoring old snowmobiles, camping, antiquing, the Fryeburg Fair horse, oxen and truck pulls and the occasional shot of Fireball. He was an avid fan of the Red Sox, Bruins and Syracuse Basketball. He was President, Vice President and Trustee at Pomfret Speedway.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Derek and Jared Pocock, two stepsons Patrick and Jeffrey Yuhas, grandson Lincoln Jon Pocock.and his mother-in-law Marion Singer He is also survived by his siblings, Jimmy (Mary) Pocock, John (Gail) Pocock, Jeff (Windy) Pocock, Kathryn Pocock and Chris Hedden, and Greg Pocock, as well as numerous aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and a ton of great friends.
His family will greet relatives and friends on Sunday, April 23, from 2 to 6pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 24, at 11:00am in the family plot at Lambtown Cemetery, Lambtown Road, Ledyard.
The family requests no flowers.
