James D. White Jr., 50, of Spencer, passed away after a short illness at UMASS Memorial Medical Center on Thursday, April 13th. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
James (Jim/Whitey 52) was a graduate of Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in the Electronics Trade Program Class of 1992. While in high school he played on the varsity football team. Over the years he shared great memories of the games and his teammates from high school.
Jim was a tractor trailer driver for many years beginning his career as a graduate of New England Tractor Trailer School in 1996. After enduring a lengthy illness at age 36, that had left him with some limitations he stepped away from truck driving and followed other passions. Over the last five years Jim was able to follow his love of football. Officiating and coaching from flag to semi- pro ball. He always enjoyed fishing in warm weather with friends and family. Jim took great pride in his ability to be the neighborhood handyman. Many will remember Jim as the one who you could call anytime, day or night, he would grab his tools and go, no questions asked. Jim was best known to enter a room and give his love and attention to any dog first. More importantly, he was a dedicated father, who was able to be part of all of his children becoming successful adults. Most recently his greatest joy was becoming a grandfather.
He leaves his wife Amy and his children, Zachary J. White and his wife Erica of Cranston, RI, Madissin E. Martz and her husband, Ben of Boynton Beach, FL and Claudia E.
