Gerald E. Cowell, 73, of Swansea, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Country Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the former husband of Nancy (Perry) Cowell of Westport.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Everett C. and Mary A. (Lynch) Cowell, he had lived in the Fall River / Westport area for most of his life. Prior to retirement, Gerry enjoyed a variety of careers in his lifetime; firefighter & police officer for the Town of Westport, an EMT, stockbroker and owner of a One Hour Photo Lab. His main passion was photography, which he practiced professionally for many years.
Including his former wife, he is survived by a son: Matthew G. Cowell of Westport; 2 daughters: Jennifer N. Piva of Westport and Denise M. Cowell of Westport; 3 grandchildren: Aaron Piva, Andrew Piva and Cayden Mello; his sister, Cynthia Mercier and several nieces and nephews.
Private arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family.
