LONGMEADOW - Marie A. Sadak, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, April 14, 2023, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her loving sister, Sally A. Sadak, her brother, John M. Sadak, her loving nephew, Donald Overson and his daughter, Kristen, and her loving niece, Judy Rivest. Marie was born on July 25, 1935 in Springfield, the beloved daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Daboul) Sadak. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Technical High School, Class of 1953, both in Springfield. She also graduated from the Mercy Hospital, School of Nursing and received her Master's Degree in Administration from Western New England College, both in Springfield. She retired from Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after serving many years in both nursing and management. She leaves her dear sister, Sally with whom she lived; and her dear brother, John, also of Longmeadow. She also leaves her many cherished nephews, nieces and grand nieces and grand nephews. Within the recent past, Marie was diagnosed as having severe medical problems. Even though she was in constant pain, she rarely complained. She once said, "Even though I may be in pain, I don't have to be one." That was Marie and she has taken us all on a very long and enjoyable journey of life and for that, we will be forever grateful. It was devastating to learn that Marie was terminally ill. She was courageous throughout and has set an example for all of us to follow. The power of prayer has been demonstrated many times in the past and the family asks that we remember our dear sister, Marie, in all of our prayers. Marie was a communicant of Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church in Springfield. The family wishes to thank our nephew and niece, Donald Overson and daughter Kristen; and niece, Judy Rivest for the extraordinary care that they provided during some very difficult times. The family will forever be grateful! A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony Maronite Catholic Church, 375 Island Pond Road, Springfield, MA 01118, (please meet directly at the church).
