WORCESTER___Richard "Ryszard" Kaminski, 66, of Worcester, Massachusetts died peacefully on Easter Monday, April 10, 2023, with his wife by his side in Health Alliance – Clinton Hospital Leominster Campus.
Richard is survived by his wife, Elzbieta Staszak of Worcester, MA, and the following family members residing in Poland: his mother, Elzbieta Kaminska; his brother, Janusz Kaminski, his wife Elzbieta, their two daughters and their families; and Tomasz Nowicki, his wife Agnieszka and their two sons. He leaves behind still more family members and many friends as well, both here in the Worcester area and in Poland. Richard was predeceased by his father Boleslaw Kaminski.
He was born in Honoratka (Slesin), Poland where he graduated from high school and served in the Polish Navy. Upon honorable discharge, he worked as a heavy equipment operator before emigrating to the United States in 1979. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church.
Richard loved life, despite the challenges from being confined to a wheelchair over many years, he never complained. He truly enjoyed every single day, and always smiled.
He cherished spending time by the lake, fishing, and any gatherings with family and friends. An avid sports fan, he loved to cheer on his beloved teams the Patriots and the Bruins.
The funeral will be held on April 28, 2023, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St., Worcester MA. Arrangements are being made for his burial in Poland to occur at a later date. There will be no visitation hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Richard Kaminski may be made to Free Wheelchair Mission.org
