Worcester – Roger W. McManus Sr., 72, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus after a long illness.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judith (Liberis) McManus; his two children, Roger W. McManus Jr. and his wife, Heather of North Brookfield and Ruan M. McManus of Worcester; a brother, Kevin McManus of Florida; four sisters, Debbie Latham of Missouri, Dora Fickinger of Illinois, Diane McManus of Florida and Sheri Lawerence of Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Roger McManus III, Kathleen McManus, Thomas Tedstone, Adam Tedstone and Ashleigh Tedstone and many nieces and nephews.
Roger was born in Lutesville, MO, son of the late Kermit McManus and Etta Robertson and is also predeceased by brothers, Chuckie McManus, Michael Williams and a sister, Sandy Ponder. Mr. McManus proudly served in the United States Navy and graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1977.
Roger worked as a Certified Public Accountant and retired in 2004 from Commercial Electric Company. He was a Star Wars fan and liked watching old country western movies. Roger always enjoyed fishing and bowling and could often be found working on a puzzle.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date where family and friends can celebrate his life.
