Obituary

Ana Maria Silva of Lowell, MA passed away on April 12, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 68 years old.

Ana was born in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, the daughter of Leonel Santos and Teresa Santos, both deceased. She immigrated from the Azores with her young family to Lowell, MA in her early 20's and worked many years as an electronics quality inspector at both Wang and Qualitronics. Ana was an avid gardener, loved dancing to Portuguese music and crocheting while watching movies. She always sought to learn something new and remembered the good times by sharing stories from her youth with family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored, and in her eyes, they could do no wrong!

Ana was surrounded by a close-knit, loving family. Ana's sons, her daughter and their families are: Julio Silva married to Maria Santos and their daughters, Sara Silva and Elizabeth Silva of Chelmsford, MA; Sergio Silva and his wife, Anne-Cecile DeWulf-Silva and their children, Chloe Silva and Maxime Silva of Tyngsboro, MA; Miguel Silva and Venus-Victoria Silva and their daughter, Natalie Silva, of Chelmsford, MA and Teresa Medina, her husband Filipe Medina and their children Mila Medina and Tatum Medina of Dracut, MA. Ana is also survived by her brothers and their families, Carlos Santos and his wife Margarida Santos and their children Sandra Freitas and Carlos Santos, Jr.; Paul Santos and his wife Kimmy Santos and their son Paul Santos, Jr. (PJ) and Ryan who pre-deceased his Tia Ana. She is also survived by her brother Tony Santos and her sisters Diane Santos and Tania Santos.

Friends and family will never forget Ana's cat, Sadie, who was her constant companion and a true friend in this life.

Ana's family wishes to thank the incredible doctors, nurses and staff at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center and High Point Hospice in Haverhill, MA for the extraordinary care and comfort they provided Ana and her family.
