Carol A. (Indelicato) Matsas, of Medford, April 12th. Beloved wife of the late Charles Matsas. Loving mother of Stephanie Cedeno and her husband Jose of Medford and James Matsas and his wife Dina Ann Park Matsas of Tewksbury. Cherished grandmother of Christina Longo, Colin Longo, Joaquin Cedeno and Krystal, Amber and Charles Matsas. Dear sister of Anita Indelicato of Medford, Nancy Indelicato of New York City and the late Richard Indelicato of Alexandria, VA. She is the much loved daughter of the late Rosalie and Gaetano Indelicato. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Shirley Indelicato and Dorothy Zevitas and many nieces, nephews and friends. Carol has been a lifelong resident of Medford. She is a graduate of Boston State Teacher’s College and received her Master’s Degree in Education and her Master’s Degree in Specialty Reading from Northeastern University. For over 30 years, Carol was a Schoolteacher for the Boston Public Elementary Schools. She was a proud member of the Boston Teacher’s Union. Carol was a former member of the Malden Moose and the Medford Boat Club. She was an avid reader, skilled crossword puzzle solver, former bocce team player and active member of a local garden club. Carol enjoyed Elvis, playing the piano and Greek dancing. She loved her Italian heritage and culture, her research on important women in history, family vacations in Vermont and Cape Cod, purple violets and her adorable dog Marisol. She was a kind, gentle, loving person and will be deeply missed. Relatives & friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Friday April 21st at 9 AM followed by her Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday April 20th from 4-7 PM.
