Aurelio Negron Ortiz, age 95, died peacefully at home on April 13, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 20, 1928 in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, the beloved son of the late Reyes Negron and Hipolita Caldera Ortiz. Aurelio worked as a laborer for many years before he retired. Aurelio enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his beloved in-laws. He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Paula (Aponte) Negron, who passed away in 2011. He is also predeceased by his 3 sons, Angel and Alberto Negron and one still born son; 3 brothers, Ramon, Ramon L. and Santiago and 4 sisters, Trinidad, Justina, Engracia and Catalina. He is survived by 4 daughters, Aida L. Negron and her friend Dan Malone of Springfield, Delia Maldonado and her husband Hector of Chicopee, Aida Gaouette and her friend Dan Therrien of Chicopee and Ramona Alicea and her husband Ramon of Chicopee; 12 grandchildren, Kelly Morales, Janice Montanez and her husband Frank, Orlando Morales, Jr, Tony Rivera and his wife Bonnie, Nelia Djavi and her husband Omid, Magaly Rivera Danny Maldonado and his wife Tina, Jonathan Gaouette and his wife Kristina, Jason Alicea and his partner Kara, Katrina Alicea and her partner Nick, Julissa Alicea and her fiancé Travis, Alex Alicea and his wife Glenda; 22 great grandchildren, Frankie, Nathan, Brandon, Nicholas, Victoria, Lily, Myles, Sebastian, Raelyn, Leonidas, Killian, Jayden, Kalyssa, Xavier, Jenessa, Nicholas, Bryan, Derek, Breanna, Bella, Natalie and Xander. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Rose de Lima Church at 11:00 AM.
