Joseph P. “Joe” Cahill age 78 of Brockton passed away peacefully at his home from Alzheimer’s on April 10, 2023 under the care of his wife and Old Colony Hospice. He was the loving husband of Jean A. (Sugrue) Cahill for for the past 54 years.
Born and raised in Boston, Joe was the son of the late John and Catherine Irene (McKenzie) Cahill, stepson of Salvatore Saladino and moved to Brockton in 1975.
Joe proudly served in the U.S. Navy then went on to work in manufacturing for many years. Joe loved playing golf, coaching little league and youth basketball. He also enjoyed playing tennis, cornhole and creating memories with his family.
Joseph was the father of Joseph P. "Jay" Cahill, Jr. and his wife Andi of Fountain Hills, AZ, Jeffrey M. Cahill and his wife Jana of North Lake, TX and Lorene A. Howard and her husband Christopher Howard of Hurricane, WV. Joe "PA" was the proud grandfather of Kennedy and Joseph P. "JP" Cahill III, Taylor Cahill and Alec Howard. He was the brother of Marion Amershadian of Dedham, MA Barbara Tarara of Hull, MA John Cahill of Quincy, MA in addition to being the fun uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday April 16, 2023 from 2-5pm.
