Jeannette Donahue (formerly Voutour, née Lonero) died peacefully on April 11, 2023 in a memory care facility in Nashua, NH due, to Alzheimer’s disease. Jeannette attended Somerville, Massachusetts schools and graduated in 1949 from Somerville High School. She married Joseph Voutour in 1951 and had five children: Marie, Joseph, David, Rick (wife AnneMarie) and Linda.
Jeannette worked most of her life; in the office at Hood Rubber, waitressing at the Esquire Restaurant in Cambridge, in the credit dept at Lechmere Sales, and in payroll at the South Postal Annex while raising her children. Later she met and married Francis H. Donahue of Belmont, a widower, who had six children: Kevin (Nancy), Maureen (Jim), Brian (Karen), Patrick (Kate), Sheila (Ed) and Paul (Shana). Upon retirement, Jeannette and Frank moved to Spring Hill, FL and were among the founding members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church there. They lived a full life there until Francis (Frank) passed away in 1995. Jeannette later became the founder of the Widows Club at St. Joan of Arc, a social club to help others to begin life anew without their spouses, which is still active.
She was predeceased by her siblings Frances, James, Lena, and Salvatore. She leaves behind her sister and brother in-law Marie & Clarence (Whitey) White, also of Spring Hill, FL, sister-in-law, Nancy Lonero of Brockton, MA, many nieces and nephews, and a combined total of 18 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the compassionate care Jeannette received while at Bridges of Epoch in Nashua, NH, as well as Home & Hospice of Merrimack, and thank all the staff members who helped her in her journey. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or Home Health & Hospice Care of Merrimack, NH would be greatly appreciated, so that someday we might conquer this terrible disease.
Calling hours will be held on April 17, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:30am in St. Anne's Parish, 26 Emerson Rd, Hampstead, NH. The burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Rd, E. Derry.
