Sandra J. Dumais, 65, of Douglas died Monday, April 10th in UMASS Memorial Hospital - Memorial Campus after a brief illness. She leaves her sisters, Lisa D. Johnson of Auburn, and Michelle Gilfoy and her husband, Ed of Spencer; many nieces and nephews; and many close friends. She was predeceased by her brother in law, Richard A. Johnson.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Leo E. and Carolyn (Carlson) Dumais and graduated from Auburn High School. Sandra worked in insurance with various companies for over 30 years, working her way up to an underwriter, retiring in 2022. She loved animals and was an avid sports fan, especially of New England Sports teams.
The family would like to thank her friends, Naz and Sally “Yohan” for the compassion and care they offered Sandra during her illness.
Her visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15th from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a graveside service following at 11:00 a.m. in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. Please omit flowers. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Sandra’s name to Second Chance Animal Shelter, 111 Young Road, East Brookfield, MA 01515 because of her love of animals, specifically dogs.
