Obituary

Jean Ann (Ferris) Rousseau of Millis, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 10, 2023 at the age of 76. She was the wife of Leon J. Rousseau, III for 57 years. Jean was born in Needham, MA and was a long-time resident of Millis. She was predeceased by her father Robert Ferris of Houston, TX. She is survived by her mother Eugenia Ferris of Houston and her sisters Debra Galka of Houston, and Robin Hughes and her husband David Hughes of Houston. Jean is survived by her three children, Jeanette Doyle and her husband Steven Doyle of Leominster, MA; Michael Rousseau and his wife Tricia Rousseau of Uxbridge, MA; and Nicole Sims of Norfolk, MA; and godmother to Maryellen Salamone of Needham and Aaron Galka of Houston. She was the proud grandma to Marissa Plouffe and her husband Colin Plouffe; Hannah Rousseau, Kyle Doyle, Erin Doyle, Ryan Doyle, Natasha Sims, Gabriel Sims and Vivienne Sims. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Jean operated a home daycare for 17 years before becoming a certified nursing assistant, caregiver and companion to the sick and elderly for over 30 years. Jean was a holy, devout, and faithful catholic and served for over 25 years in various catholic ministries serving as CCD teacher, Lector, Eucharist Minister, Healing Team Member, Leader of Prayer Groups, and many other service ministries. Jean led and created various rosary prayer groups. She had a passion and devotion for the Divine Mercy, where she studied and taught the Divine Mercy Novena to countless people. Mother Mary held a special place in her heart. She was devoted to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal which she never took off. She was actively involved in the charismatic prayer group the Vision of Peace and served on the Core Committee arranging healing masses. She also was an active member of the Court St. Joseph #1475 Medway, MA Catholic Daughters of Americas, where she served as Regent for four years. She touched and blessed many lives through her service work in the Catholic Church.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street, Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston, MA followed by interment at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.
