Obituary

Joan (Seaman) Hrycin passed away peacefully on April 10, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward “Squeaky” Hrycin and beautiful mother of Susan Marcone (Ralph), Joyce Botelho (Michael) and Merrianne Terranova (Joseph). Joan was the daughter of Richard and Hazel Seaman and sister of Carol Seaman and Richard Seaman (Cheryl). Joan has several grandchildren (James, Sarah, Zachery, Caleb, Arielle and Dominick), one great-grandchild (Brooke) and several nieces and nephews.
Joan was a 1952 graduate of Durfee High School where she was captain of the volleyball and basketball teams. She met her soulmate and married in 1954. Edward and Joan enjoyed 61 years of marriage until he passed in 2015. Together they raised 3 children and enjoyed life. They loved to travel, enjoyed the theater, the beach, the casinos, Red Sox games and especially spending time with their daughters, family and friends.
Thoughtful, kind and caring, she had an exceptional never ending love for her family; always willing to gather with them to travel, dine, or play games. Not only was she a beautiful mother and grandmother, but she was also a true friend in every sense of the word. How lucky we are to have known such a beautiful soul.
Joan was born in Fall River and spent most of her life there. She had a wonderful, fun-loving great sense of humor and unpretentious personality. She was creative and was an excellent seamstress. Throughout her life she made beautiful suits, gowns, and dresses for her daughters and later in life, enjoyed quilting and doll-making.
She will be missed.
