Charles E. Douglas, 92, of Medford passed away on Saturday, April 8th in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in the Strawberry Banks section of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, he was the son of Charles E. and Hazel F. (Bassett) Douglas. Charles proudly served in the Marine Corps, and was a longtime member of Disabled American Veterans.
Charles was the beloved husband of the late Norma (Lamborghini) Douglas, and the devoted father of Ronald Douglas and his wife Maricela, Charlene Douglas and her late husband Wayne Alden, Rory Kline and her husband Ralph, Yvonne Silverman and her husband Ken, and Norma Douglas. He was the loving grandfather of Candice Beatty and her husband Chris, Ashley Deitz and her husband Cody, Stephanie Czerwinski and her husband Derick, and Brandon, Joshua, Kathleen and Hannah Silverman. Charles was the loving great grandfather of Brady, Hazel, Connor, Colin and Evelyn, and is survived by many more loving family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, on Thursday, April 13th at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with family on Wednesday, April 12th from 4 through 8 PM in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Thursday’s services will conclude with military honors at St. Joseph’s Church. Interment will be private.
