Luis D. Rivera, 80, of Auburn, died Monday, April 10th at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind daughter, Magda Rodriguez, son, Geraldo Rivera and his wife, Mary Rivera; his grandchildren, Makisha Rodriguez, Tajhi Rodriguez, Rheina Romero, Serena Viruet and Evangeline Rivera; and a great grandchild, Navi Manuel Santos. He also leaves many siblings.
He was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico the son of Ramiro Rivera and Luz Maria Rivera. A veteran of the United States Army, Luis was a Sergeant with the 1st Battalion, 169th Infantry. Luis worked at Colt Manufacturing for over 25 years. He enjoyed classic cars, and baseball – especially the New York Yankees. Known for his sweet tooth, Luis always started his day with a cinnamon bun, coffee, and a banana.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 11:30 A.M. in All Faith’s Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester. Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester.
