Annie Barrentine Hutto, 98, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, April 9, 2023.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, Georgia, with Brother Yancey Guthrie and Brother Steve Gentry officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Community Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Hutto was born December 26, 1924, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Alton Barrentine and Myrtie Parker Darley. She owned and operated Hutto’s Grocery, enjoyed making quilts and baking. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her specialty baking, candy, cakes, and cookies all homemade. Every Sunday she cooked enough for her family and anyone that came to visit. Her family will remember her as being beautiful, fun loving and full of life. Mrs. Hutto was a member of Lax Community Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Guthrie & Paul of Wray; grandchildren: John Chaney, Stephanie Clemons & William, Yancey Guthrie & Rae, Nicole Guthrie and Stephen Guthrie & Amy; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hutto; a daughter, Peggy Hutto Chaney; a grandson, George Chaney; a brother, James Barrentine and a sister, Corrine Strickland.
