Lowell - Joseph V. Klimkofski, affectionately known by many as "Joe K", 74, of Londonderry, formerly of Lowell, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis K. (Faulkner) Klimkofski, and they would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary next month.
Joe was born and raised in Lowell, the son of the late Joseph Klimkofski and Delia (Silva) Klimkofski. He attended local schools and spent most of his life in Lowell. For over thirty years, he worked as a Steam Fireman for the Tewksbury Hospital until his retirement in 2004. Joe was a dedicated member of the Knickerbocker Club, where he enjoyed spending time with friends every Saturday.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, of Londonderry, NH, Joe is survived by his two children, Katrina Klimkofski of Danville, NH and Joseph M. Klimkofski of Nashua, NH. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Corey Lynn Bouchard, Jacob Bouchard, Kirstin Klimkofski, and Lindsey Klimkofski, whom he loved dearly. Joe is also survived by many cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his daughter, Lana Klimkofski, who passed away on September 3, 1988.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 4pm until 7pm at the McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA. A funeral procession will begin from the funeral home on Saturday at 11am, followed by a funeral Mass at 12pm in Saint Anthony’s Church, 893 Central Street, Lowell.
