Jennie V Cauthen Johnson, 98, of Eldorado, died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eddie Allen and Dr. W. Ches Smith, III officiating with burial to follow in the Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Rogers, Cam Rogers, Tyler Beard, Dale Beard, R. E. Burnett and Cleo Stone. The family will receive friends on Friday, Jun 9, 2006, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Johnson was born on March 27, 1908 in Haralson County and was the daughter of Edward Alexander Cauthen and Leona L. Cauthen, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis C. Johnson, four brothers and one sister. Ms. Jennie V was the oldest member of Eldorado Baptist Church and had been a member for 86 years. She was a well-known seamstress and enjoyed making beautiful clothes for many people in this area.
She is survived by one daughter, Jeannette J. Beard and her husband, Floyd Beard, of Tifton; two grandchildren, Candace Beard Rogers and her husband, Romney C. Rogers and Anthony Beard and his wife, Karen Wackes Beard, all of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and five great grandchildren, Dwight Rogers, Cam Rogers, Tyler Beard, Rebekah Beard and Hannah Beard, all of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
