Obituary

Santa M. (DeGrande) Ternullo of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 82 years of age.

Born in Boston, Santa was the loving daughter of the late Felix DeGrande and Maria (Romeo) DeGrande. Santa was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all.

Santa was a longtime resident of Stoneham. A devout Catholic, Santa regularly attended Mass at St. Patrick’s Church in Stoneham. She was retired from Stone & Webster, and was a member of the St. Domenic Society. Santa’s true passion was for her family. They were first and foremost in her life. Her love for them went unparalleled.

Santa was the beloved wife of Philip Ternullo. She was the devoted mother of Maria Hanaka of Westboro, Ellen Shinkle and her husband Richard of California, Elizabeth Quinn and her husband Michael of Quincy. Santa was the cherished grandmother of Philip Hanaka, Marisa DeBiasio and her husband Michael, Christopher and David Hanaka. She was the loving great grandmother of John Hanaka and the dear sister of Margaret Fassberger, Nora Haywood and the late Domenic and Charles DeGrande. Santa was also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Santa’s life in St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Friday 1-3 & 6-8pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
