ABRAMSON-MELVIN M. – In West Roxbury, June 6, 2006, suddenly of a heart attack at home. Beloved husband of Rita (Gamache) with whom they shared 62 years of marriage. Loving father of Roberta Foster & her husband Jim of Attleboro, Sylvia Jette & her husband Roger of North Easton, Herbert of Oklahoma, Robert L. & his wife Barbara of Virginia, Albert & his wife Sarah of West Roxbury. Also survived by 9 grandchildren & 12 great grandchildren. Melvin was an avid handball player and belonged to former Y.M.C.U. for many years. He served in the Army in WW II and was a salesman and also worked as an electrician in the former Quincy Shipyard.
Funeral service on Friday June 9 at 10 am in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 pm. Interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne at 2pm.
