Alice Kathryn (Bernard) Andrykes, 95, of Medway died peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Edward S. Andrykes for 69 years.
Born in Boston on April 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Hector and Mary Lena (Meuse) Bernard.
Alice grew up in the Boston area, spent the early married years raising her family in Chelsea and was a resident of Medway for the past 30 years.
Before her retirement, she was a bookkeeper who spent most of her career working for Rudolph Electric Company.
Alice enjoyed embroidery, crocheting and was an avid reader.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Susan Gartside and her husband Bill of Medway and Ellen Lotufo and her husband Scott of Providence, Rhode Island.
She is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric Gartside and his wife Maro, Cory Ripp and his wife Ashley, Kelly Gartside-LaBarge and her husband Jarrod, and Daniel and Ethan Lotufo, and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Matthew.
She was the mother of the late Kathryn Ripp and sister of the late Evelyn Bernard and William Bernard.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 10 from 10:30 a.m. - Noon in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a funeral service at Noon in the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Fryeburg, Maine at a later date.
