John C. Davis, age 61, of Chelmsford passed away on Thursday, March 30. Born in Pontiac, MI, he was raised and educated in Schenectady, NY, son of the late Paul P. Davis, and the late Jean (Pound) Davis Fentiman and her late husband Donald S. Fentiman.
John graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. He started as a night auditor for Marriott in Boston and then worked for many years in the newspaper business before becoming a consultant. John lived in the Greater Boston area for many years, as well as in Portland, ME, and Westford, MA, before moving to Chelmsford. He was an expert in the Great Plains Accounting System and an Excel “wizard.” John was a great cook, an accomplished handyman, an artist, and an avid gardener. He had many talents, and his creativity, humor, and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by both those who knew him well and those who interacted with him only briefly.
John was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Callahan) Davis, and the devoted father of Paul C. Davis. He was the dear brother of Karen Goulet and her husband David, Linda Fentiman and her husband Arthur Levine, and Sandra Fentiman and her spouse Alice Kenly-Fentiman. He was the brother-in-law of Brian T. Callahan, Jr. and his wife Stephanie, Laura J. Burnham and her husband Don, Michael K. Callahan and his wife Kathleen, and Kathryn M. Thompson and her husband George. John was a loving uncle to Emily McMaster and her husband Will, Andrew Goulet, Jamie Levine and her husband Ian Anderson, Rachel Levine and her husband Nate Hwang, Weston Fellows and his wife Brijan, Dale Fellows, Stephanie DuPreez and her husband Jacques, Brian T. Callahan III and his fiancée Megg DesRosier, Neal Callahan, Jessica Karis and her husband Matt, Carolyn Burnham, Meaghan DeSoto and her husband Jonathan, Michael Callahan, Jr. and his wife Johanna, Taylor Callahan, Garrett Callahan and his wife Meredith, George B. Thompson and his fiancée Lindsey Fries, Joseph Thompson, and Paige Thompson. John is also survived by many loving, and adorable, great nieces and nephews.
