SPENCER; Benjamin B. Whittaker, 82, passed away in his home, on March 30. Ben was born in Enfield, NH on July 23, 1940 to Benjamin B. and Maude (Lothrop) Whittaker.
He attended Orford High School in Orford, NH, where he met his wife, Nancy (Davis). They were married for 63 years.
Ben worked as a carpenter, first in New Hampshire, then Florida before settling in Massachusetts. In 1977, he started BW Construction, a successful commercial construction
company now run by his son Pete.
Ben loved travel and took some amazing trips with his wife Nancy across the U.S., to Africa, South America and Europe. He also loved the beach, spending many winters after
retirement in Sarasota, FL.
Ben was devoted to his family and was always happiest when everyone was together. His Christmas Eve gatherings were legendary, drawing family and friends from all over.
Ben is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his children, Christine Whittaker and her husband Thane Thompson, Peter Whittaker and his wife Bonnie, Bonnie Toomey and her
husband Tim, his grandchildren, Ashley Whittaker, Ben Whittaker and his wife Wendy, Nicholas Bracewell, Justin Bracewell, Eva Sofge, Henry Sofge and his great grandson
Grayson Whittaker.
A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, April 6 at 11:00 A.M. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer.
A calling hour will precede the Service from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Spencer.
