John J. Ruane, III, of Northbridge, formerly of Malden, March 29th. Beloved husband of Joan (Kobbs) Ruane. Loving father of Lindsey Ruane and Erica Ruane-Bacher and her husband Graham. Dear brother of Kathy Kulick of Maine, Ann Marie O’Connor of Cohasset and the late Patti Hosker and Stephen Ruane. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John was raised and educated in Malden. He is a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1965. He served his country honorably as a soldier in the United States Army Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. John was a Firefighter for the City of Malden, retiring after 41 years of service. He was an avid cook and was a passionate runner, competing in the Boston Marathon several times. He also enjoyed participating in local triathlons and mountain biking. He was a past member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Malden. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday April 5th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 10 AM. His burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 4th from 4-7 PM.
