Ralph C. Himmelreich, Jr.
1945 – 2023
CHICOPEE – Ralph C. Himmelreich, Jr., 77, of Chicopee, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on Tuesday, December 18, 1945, beloved son of the late Ralph C. Himmelreich and Mildred E. (Mace) Himmelreich. He was raised in Granby, graduated from Granby High School and moved to Chicopee in 1970 where he lived the remainder of his life. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 1960, Bronze Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He worked for the former Mold-Tech in Chicopee for 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, trying his luck at Roulette, cheering on his San Francisco 49ers and riding one of his many Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his loving and devoted sons, Eric M. Himmelreich and his wife, Kim, and Philip J. “PJ” Himmelreich of Chicopee; his cherished grandson, Landon R. Himmelreich; his former wife, Linda Himmelreich; his brother, Herbie Himmelreich (Deborah); his sister, Cindy Brunelle (Louie); and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his longtime partner, Kathleen Bolduc. Visiting hours will be held at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 8:15 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service following at 9:15 a.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors will follow the Service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001.
