The Honorable Karen Keegan-Hutchinson, 76, of Londonderry, NH, passed away on Sunday, March 26th, 2023, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, surrounded by her family. Karen was born July 7, 1946 in Heidelberg, Germany, and moved to the United States at the age of three. She was raised in Brookline, MA, and had been a resident of her beloved Londonderry for the past 51 years.
Karen attended nursing school and worked as a registered nurse before finding her true calling as a licensed realtor. Karen operated Blue Eagle Realty for over 40 years, and she was enthusiastically involved in her community. She was former chairperson of the Londonderry School Board, a member of the School Building Committee, and a longtime participant in the Londonderry Old Home Days Parade. Karen also served as a Londonderry Representative in the New Hampshire House for over 20 years. She was a die-hard Republican and true Patriot who loved her country. She cherished spending time with her family, and always looked forward to yearly trips to Cape Cod with her daughters and granddaughters. Karen adored the beach, especially shelling, and loved spending time in Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel Island, FL. She also enjoyed canoeing on Loon Pond, was an avid gardener, and always hoped to one day see a Big-Foot or a UFO.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Royal “Hutch” Hutchinson, son Michael (Jana) Keegan of Saco, ME, daughter Patricia (Randy) Williams of Old Orchard Beach, ME, daughter Tracy (Tom) Marion of Weare, NH, and daughter Kristine (Aaron) Keegan-Bastarache of South Portland, ME. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Andrew, Joseph (Megan) and Steven Forlano, Stephanie and Trevor Marion, Jordyn Bastarache, Avery and Elaina Keegan, and great-granddaughter Arianna Forlano. She was predeceased by her mother Gesila Lovatt, father John Hannon, and her first husband, father of her children, Richard F. Keegan.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday April 11th from 3 - 7pm at the Derry VFW, 18 Railroad Ave., Derry, NH where flowers will be accepted.
